You know spring is in the air when the Oregonian Classifieds start filling up with Estate Sales. I usually start going this time each year and quit about June. I can't deal with all the pushy Estate Salers out there. This weekend I ventured out to the west side of Portland and found these great little items.

The Chair is a 1965 Eames Chair made by Herman Miller It is in perfect shape. I have several of these but none in this good of shape. For now I am using it as an extra chair in my living room.
I got the thread holder for Piper to start with on her sewing projects. She has already started filling it up. I will keep you up to date on her work.

I have finally started knitting so I thought I would pick up these needles while at this wonderful Estate sale. They were a steal at .25 cents a piece. This lady had buckets of crafty stuff. I picked up this great cross stitch book full of transfers. They have never been used and are in great shape. I love to stitch onto Pipers dresses.

Last, the gal that lived in this house did loads of stitchery. The walls were covered with her work, I thought I would get a couple of the small pieces to hang in my kitchen. It made me sad that they would just end up at the Good Will.
Going to Estate Sales is bitter sweet for me. I always look for the sales with sewing and crafts in the headlines, I get so excited and act like some kind of freak vulture. Then when I go I am so sad that all this great stuff is left over from all the work they did with love.
